In 1960, Margaret Elizabeth Stephenson was commissioned to initiate teacher training in the United States on behalf of AMI. She conducted training courses in this country for nearly 40 years. The MES Fund, Inc., was established in her name to provide scholarship money to deserving AMI teacher training candidates.
