Vital to your chosen career path is continued personal development, there no profession that does not demand regular updating and contact with experts in the field. AMI/USA endorses this commitment as well. Professional development workshops for teachers, heads of school, and classroom assistants are offered annually at The Montessori Experience: Refresher Courses & More held on Presidents Day weekend. This is an excellent way to examine current educational structures and strategies as well as delve deeper into your knowledge and understanding of Montessori pedagogy.

In addition to the annual Montessori Experience: Refresher Courses & More every February, AMI/USA offers Regional Workshops to expand access to professional development events around the country. Regional workshops offer the same high quality content delivered by notable and accomplished speakers, but at a smaller and more accessible scale for those who may not be able to travel to our February event. Initiated by the North American Montessori Teachers' Association (NAMTA), AMI/USA is thrilled to be able to continue this important tradition.

In today’s busy world, it can be difficult to find the time and resources to travel to in-person professional development events. At AMI/USA, we are committed to providing professional development for Montessori educators and families in increasingly abundant and accessible ways. Virtual Events and Webinars will feature high-quality content from accomplished speakers, helping provide an introduction for some, and a refresher for others. Some webinars will be recorded so that registered attendees may continue to access the content after the live broadcast.

AMI/USA is working to expand its professional development offerings to support the Montessori community, including both educators and parents. The videos are free, evergreen resources that can be viewed repeatedly for in-depth learning. They represent initiatives with partner organizations and educators within the Montessori community dedicated to expanding access to Montessori philosophy.
