Executive Director Search

Heads Up Educational Consulting and Triangle Associates are leading the search for an executive director for AMI/USA,  a membership organization for American Montessori schools and educators dedicated to preserving and expanding authentic Montessori education. Founded in 1970, the association today is a vital operation serving approximately 3,400 individual and school members. The deadline to submit an application for the executive director position has been extended to August 15, 2017.

AMI/USA is seeking an executive director to lead the organization’s operation and growth, and in concert with the board of trustees, to define its direction and future. AMI training and experience in Montessori education are preferred but not required. Deep education experience, association leadership, and/or advocacy work will also qualify strong candidates for consideration.  While AMI/USA is located in the Metro-DC area (in historic Old Town, Alexandria), a candidate who would need to telework rather than relocate will be considered as well.
