AMI/USA Announces Human Rights and Social Justice Committee

AMI/USA recently established Human Rights and Social Justice Committee provides insights, guidance and recommendations to the AMI/USA Board. A diverse group of advisers to the Committee provide a voice for the wider Montessori community in establishing goals and strategies as well as offering direct input into developing areas of equity, diversity and inclusion.

AMI/USA Board members on the Committee are KaLinda Bass-Barlow as Chair and Connie Black as Secretary.

The Committee has held two meeting since early June as it establishes its short and long-term goals. Early decisions driven by the Committee’s agenda include commitments to fund the appointment of an Equity Inclusion position to the AMI/USA operational team and the development of a series of free online events focusing on social justice.
