AMI/USA is the primary operational affiliate of the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

Through support of AMI’s global network and initiatives, AMI/USA maintains the world view critical to the education of today’s children and to our responsibility to humans not just within the United States but across the world.

A few of AMI’s current initiatives include:

Montessori Education for Social Change

When Montessori principles are applied in the wider context of society, the possibilities are endless. AMI promotes children’s rights throughout the world, irrespective of race, religion, and political and social beliefs. AMI directly manages various initiatives providing educational solutions for the delivery of quality Montessori education in challenging situations. We support this educational outreach through mentorship and resources while focusing on the sustainability, expansion, and replication of successful projects.

Aid to Life Parent Resources

The Aid to Life initiative aims to make information about supporting children’s development available to all parents in a format that is easy to understand and simple to apply. Leaflets, booklets, and DVDs are available through the Aid to Life initiative. These offer a useful resource for parents and anyone wishing to run parent support groups. Access these materials here.

Educateurs sans Frontières

The mission of Educateurs sans Frontières (EsF), a division of AMI, is to work with individuals, families, communities, organisations, and governments to further the rights, education, and welfare of children worldwide. EsF is committed to transcending borders in order to serve children through innovative education initiatives using Montessori principles and practices. Learn more about EsF here.
