Lead Toddler Guide/Teacher

Toddler Lead Teachers are responsible for the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth and development of 12 students in a full-day, multi-age classroom. Lead teachers work collaboratively with the other Toddler classroom and the Assistant Teacher to prepare and maintain a Montessori environment, including developmentally appropriate materials and activities. The Lead teacher is responsible for establishing and maintaining a classroom true to the Montessori philosophy, including fostering a classroom community of respect and kindness. Lead teachers demonstrate warm regard, self-regulation, integrity, curiosity, responsibility, and creativity with a deep respect for racial, cultural, and gender diversity.

Pinewoods educators model integrity, curiosity, responsibility, creativity, and respect for all persons as well as an appreciation for racial, cultural, and gender issues and diversity. Educators adhere to the PWMS mission, for the purpose of maintaining safety and excellence. All staff are required to support the full school community through collaborative, positive approaches, and completion of additional duties as assigned, including student support on the car line and program leadership through committee participation.

Required knowledge, dispositions, and skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field

• Preferred, Montessori-trained

• Preferred, two-years of teaching experience in a Montessori classroom

• Fluency in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills
