Montessori Radmoor is a private school arranged on a beautiful 9-acre campus in Okemos, Michigan adjacent to Michigan State University. The school seeks a Primary Guide for the 2024-2025 academic year. Montessori Radmoor is recognized by the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI/USA), and serves children from 18 months old through sixth grade. The school has over 200 students and has been in operation for 55 years. Come be a part of our community as we empower children to become successful world citizens.
Required Competencies & Qualifications:
• A passion for facilitating the development of independent, confident and curious children;
• Ability to provide services to all children and families with respect and dignity;
• Ability to understand and willingness to work with a range of learning styles;
• Excellent listening and communication skills;
• Strong written and verbal communication skills;
• A love of children and a sense of humor;
Education and Experience:
• Certification (ages 3-6 ) from a Montessori Accreditation Committee for Teacher Education (MACTE) approved program (AMS, AMI, IMC etc.) appropriate to the age level being taught. Candidates may be at the Practicum stage of Montessori certification, however, full certification is preferred.
• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
• Prior experience in a Montessori classroom environment.
• Prior experience working in a diverse student and adult community.
