Primary Guide Position
Pacific Crest School in Seattle, WA, is currently seeking an AMI trained Primary guide to take over an established classroom in the fall of 2022. Starting earlier is also possible to ease the transition. In our 36th year, we are a well established community of dedicated families and staff who strive to create a vibrant Montessori school community from the primary years through young adolescence. Our urban campus is home to all three levels. We’re located in a residential neighborhood in Seattle, WA, where we are easily accessible by bike and local transit. Our 19 acre rural farm campus on Vashon Island is utilized by all three levels and is a working farm with nut and fruit orchards, ponds, wetlands, and commercially productive sustainable gardens. Our AMI and equity rooted classrooms and community nurture independence, self discipline and joy to support the fullest development of every child and make real peace and justice possible.

Job Requirements:
AMI Primary diploma and teaching experience, preferably 3 – 10 or more years
A commitment to strengthening our equity work in service to the child, community and peace
Completion of post high school learning, including 2 or 4 year degrees and beyond
Strong communication skills with children, parents, and co-workers
Good organizational skills
Flexibility, creativity, critical thinking, self-motivation, and a willingness to collaborate cohesively with our team
The ideal candidate will have:
Lead Teacher qualifications through the Washington Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF)
A love of every area in the classroom, including the bells, singing and nurturing music experiences with children
A love of nature
