Lewis & Clark Montessori Charter School (LCMCS) is seeking a Primary Guide to join our Children’s House program beginning immediately for the 2021-2022 school year.  LCMCS is in its 12^th year of operation and offers a fully implemented, high-quality tuition-free public Montessori program as well as a tuition-based Children’s House program.  We currently have 15 classrooms ranging from 2.5 years-8th grade. The Primary Guide will lead an established classroom with 23-25 students alongside a supportive Assistant. The Children’s House Program consists of 2 Primary Classrooms and 1 Montessori Foundations (Kindergarten) Classroom.  You will be supported by a Primary Trained Montessori Coach, Primary Trained Reading Specialist, Montessori Trained School Counselor and AMI Montessori Trained Academic Director and Head of School.

Our school week has students on campus Monday to Thursday from 8:00 to 3:30 and Friday is for Guides to complete paperwork, planning, level meetings, and professional development.  During the school year we have occasional evening and weekend commitments.  The position is salaried, exempt, benefit-eligible from your first day of employment (medical, dental, and vision insurance) and fully paid by LCMCS.  After 6 months of employment, you are eligible for the Oregon Public Employees Retirement System (PERS).  PERS is both a retirement fund and a pension. Relocation expenses are available.

Our ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree, AMI Primary Montessori Certification, and Montessori Primary classroom experience.  Additional skills Include strong communication and organization along with professional teamwork and collaboration skills.
