Mater Amoris Montessori School is located on a 13-acre country campus in Ashton, Maryland. We are a school grounded in a rich history of serving families in the community for over five decades. While holding on to many of the established traditions, we are adapting to meet the needs of our current community, which has experienced rapid growth over the past few years. Adherence to AMI standards while guiding children on their path to becoming global citizens is at the core of our mission.

We are currently in search of an Elementary Guide to add to our devoted team. Successful candidates will have an AMI Elementary diploma and, at minimum, a Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred). At least three years of classroom experience, preferably in a Montessori environment, is required. Highly motivated individuals with at least five years of teaching experience but who lack a Montessori diploma will be considered if willing to commit to completing a Montessori training program.

Individuals wishing to be on staff at Mater Amoris Montessori School must demonstrate an ability to work as part of a dynamic and diverse team. Guides should be skilled at supporting the holistic development of children in their care, should be able to adapt lessons and learning experiences to meet the needs of the children, and should participate in ongoing monitoring of student growth and development. Strong communication skills, a commitment to ethical behavior, and a collaborative nature are key to building relationships with children, parents, and co-workers and are required of all members of the Mater Amoris team.
