Metro East Montessori School seeks a 6-12 Elementary guide to join our staff to start for 2024-2025 school year and beyond!
Our school is a well-established, child-centered community that has proudly served the Metro East St. Louis area for over 50 years. Our mission is to offer an authentic Montessori experience to any child and family who seeks it. We are passionate about supporting children’s individual human development and making decisions based on what is best for them. Our school is located just under 15 miles away from St. Louis, Missouri’s downtown area in Granite City, IL, and 8 miles from the Cahokia Mounds.
This position is for lead guide in our 6-12 classroom. The school year runs a nine-month academic calendar (Sept-May) with time in August to prepare environments and attend professional development. Teachers hold bi-annual parent-teacher conferences with a formal report written in the Spring. Mentorship for new teachers is available.
The ideal candidate will hold an AMI elementary certification, be enrolled in a training program, or be willing to attend AMI elementary training. This person must be committed to offering an authentic Montessori experience and love of children. At this time, we are not able to sponsor US work visas.
This position includes full benefits, a generous annual professional development stipend, tuition and before/after care discounts for staff children, and a salary commensurate with experience.
