MEx25 Call For Presentation Proposals

The 2025 Montessori Experience: Refresher Courses & More!

Adaptation: Innovating and Thinking for the Future

Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

February 14 – 17, 2025

AMI/USA is receiving presentation proposals for The 2025 Montessori Experience: Refresher Courses and More!

We are calling for proposals from dynamic AMI trainers and diverse Montessori educators and leaders to address the theme and additional exciting topics that will inspire and motivate conference participants to respond to the fast-paced changes that are happening in our society. Maria Montessori (1946) emphasized the importance of adaptation as the basis for education: ‘We must accept adaptation as the basis upon which we can build a concept of education’ (p. 96, The 1946 London Lectures). As we embark on The 2025 Montessori Experience: Refresher Courses & More!, we echo her words in recognizing the work of Montessorians is to balance this reality with the needs of children and adults in our prepared environments. Montessorians are challenged to employ creative, innovative, and diverse practical approaches that will address the continuous universal human need to adapt to our time and place.

Join AMI/USA and your colleagues at #MEx25, to explore, analyze, and discuss many topics that will highlight the relationship between the concept of adaptation during each plane of development, Montessori scientific pedagogy, and when and how to grow and adapt our knowledge and skills to meet the evolving demands on Montessori educators. Beyond this, other inspiring and affirming presentations will inform our future work.

AMI Refresher Courses and Weekend Workshops will be held on Saturday, February 15 and Sunday, February 16, 2025.

Workshop Sessions will be held Friday, February 14 and Monday, February 17, 2025.

Submissions should be emailed to Tim Walker, AMI/USA Events Director and should include:

  • A brief bio of the presenter (min 75 words – 100 words max) and a recent photo to be used on our website (png or jpeg file)
  • A brief workshop presentation proposal (200-300 words) and length of the workshop (generally 90 minutes)
  • Any requirements or accessibility needs from AMI/USA
  • Contact Information (email and phone number)
  • The event will be in-person but may be taped and offered at cost to AMI/USA members for 1 year. Let us know if a video of your presentation can be shared at a later date.

Submissions will be reviewed and considered on a first come, first served basis, until all time slots are filled. Please keep our commitment to equity and inclusion in mind when developing your proposal.

Deadline to submit: July 19, 2024
