Upper Elementary Lead Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Upper Elementary Lead Teacher to add to our team.
Our ideal candidate has an AMI Elementary diploma and at least three years of experience in a Montessori environment.
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM, with some requirement for attending curricular evening events
Start Date: August 25, 2025. There may be the requirement of several hours of transition meetings with the current Upper Elementary teacher prior to the start of the school year.
Reports to: Head of School
Essential Responsibilities:
-Developing and implementing child-led learning experiences according to the Montessori Elementary Curriculum
-Observing, documenting, and assessing children’s progress
-Communicating regularly with parents about their child’s development
-Collaborating with colleagues to foster a supportive and nurturing learning environment
-Working with students to guide student-led initiatives, including our 6th grade Capstone Project, two student-written play performances, and two student talent shows per year.
-Supervision and guidance of the Classroom Assistant
Additional Responsibilities:
-Participation as a member of our Child Study Team
-Participation in weekly teacher meetings with Administration
-Participation in Professional Development as required by your supervisor
-Participation in our Peer Observation program

Skills/ Requirements:
-AMI or equivalent certification in the appropriate age range or 3 years’ experience, teaching this age range in a Montessori environment.
-A bachelor’s degree or above
-A deep understanding of and respect for the unique journey of each child.
-Science of Reading and or Orton Gillingham experience and credentials preferred
-Child Study Trained or willing to complete the online Child Study training (virtual
