Upper Elementary Guide (4th / 5th)

Breakthrough Montessori Public Charter School

Under the direction of the Director of Curriculum & Instruction, the guide plans and provides appropriate learning experiences for students. They prepare a structured, student-centered learning environment conducive to the intellectual, physical, social and emotional development of all children.

As a public school, it is important that our diverse population of students all have equitable access to instruction, social-emotional support, and opportunities for self-development. The guide plays the central role in creating a prepared environment in which this is possible.

This position is unique in that the classroom to be served is a startup classroom. Most of the children will have matriculated from the Montessori lower elementary classrooms at Breakthrough Montessori PCS and all students will be between 9-11 years of age, and enrolled in 4th grade. The class size for the 2021-22 school year may also be smaller, with an assistant to join when the class is more complete. The school is growing each year, so this classroom will have its full complement of students in the three year age span by the 2023-2024 school year.
