Are you a creative and enthusiastic Montessorian who is passionate about working with upper elementary students (grades 4-6)? Cedar River Montessori has a rare opening for an Upper Elementary teacher to start in August 2021 for the 2021-2022 academic year. Our school community values the rich cultures, traditions, and ethnicities our families come from, and we are looking for diverse applicants who represent these backgrounds.
Located on 12 acres of forested wetland and pasture, Cedar River Montessori is an American Montessori Society accredited, independent, non-profit school for students ages 3 through 14 in Renton, WA, just outside Seattle. Cedar River Montessori students follow their natural interests as they explore their world, discovering the interconnectedness of personal responsibility, environmental stewardship, and social equity. Students learn how to work independently and collaboratively, experiencing a transformative education as they grow into the next generation of engaged, global thinkers who compassionately challenge the status quo. Founded in 1981, we strive to be a diverse and inclusive community.
Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree and AMI, AMS, or MACTE certification (6-12 or Elementary I-II). 10 month salary $40,000-46,000 depending on certification and experience, with additional compensation for a master’s in education and/or state teaching certification.
