Childpeace Montessori School seeks a Spanish Teacher to join our Middle School Program beginning August 2025. This is a part-time, hourly position averaging 15 hours per week, likely scheduled over 2 to 3 weekdays. Occasional evening and weekend commitments may be required.
The Spanish Teacher supports students’ academic and social-emotional development through engaging, culturally responsive instruction. This educator builds strong relationships with adolescents, colleagues, and families and is committed to professional growth and upholding Childpeace’s mission and values.
Responsibilities include planning and delivering effective Spanish lessons, following a schedule provided by the Program Director. The teacher will adapt instruction to meet diverse learning needs, foster a respectful and identity-aware classroom culture, and clearly communicate student progress. They will collaborate with the Middle School team, contribute to school-wide goals, maintain an organized environment, and uphold confidentiality and professionalism. The teacher will be evaluated by and report to the Middle School Program Director.
A bachelor’s degree in Spanish or a related field is required. A master’s degree and/or relevant teaching experience is preferred. Candidates must have at least two years of successful Spanish teaching experience at the middle or high school level, a comprehensive approach to instruction (grammar, listening, speaking, cultural literacy), and proficiency with communication and technology tools. Experience with student-centered, project-based, or Montessori education is valued. Native Spanish speakers are encouraged to apply. Candidates must pass a background check and be eligible to work in the U.S.
Required certifications and training (provided by the school) include a Food Handler Card, CPR/First Aid, Recognizing & Reporting Child Abuse & Neglect, and 24 hours of documented annual professional development.
