Job responsibilities include providing daily support to an AMI-trained teacher in a multi-aged Montessori classroom.

$ 1,000 hiring bonus payable in two installments ($500 to be paid on your first payroll and $500 to be paid after three successful months on the job)

Key Responsibilities Include the Following:

Observing and supporting children for safety and learning goals;

Helping with daily needs of children, snack, lunch, and toileting support as needed for youngest children;

Refilling paper, paint, polish and other daily maintenance;

Cleaning as needed;

Material making or repair of activities as needed;

Supervising during both playground and lunch time for safety and peer problem solving.

Assisting the youngest children with settling down for nap time.

Candidates Must:

Enjoy a dynamic day with young children;

Remain curious about human development and how to be supportive of children in your care;

Believe in the potential of each child and their desire to learn and grow;

Possess excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal;

Bring a collaborative and flexible approach to working with colleagues;

Maintain a growth mindset as well as high standards for organization, punctuality, and attention to detail;

Demonstrate a desire to learn more about AMI Montessori practices and ability to learn on the job;

Successfully pass a criminal background check;

A minimum of six Early Childhood Education (ECE) units, actively working toward 12 units;

Provide three professional work references;

Be able to lift and carry 40 pounds.

Preferred Experience, Qualifications:

Experience working with young children;

Bachelor’s Degree in a related field;

Spanish fluency to share this gift with children;

Knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices.

Hours and Salary: This is a non-exempt, full-time position. Start date is immediate for the 2023-2024 school year. Start date is August 10, 2023. Hours are 7:30 am – 3:30 pm Monday, through Friday with one additional long day per week, staying until 4:30 pm. The salary and benefits package includes health and dental. Pay is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
