Moore Montessori Community School (MMCS), a public charter school, is seeking trained Primary and Elementary Montessori Guides to open new classrooms as part of a planned school expansion as we move to our new permanent home: a historic 14-acre public school campus in downtown Southern Pines, NC.
Guides lead mixed-age learning communities using the Montessori method in fully-equipped classrooms. MMCS staff includes an AMI-trained administrator, an AMI-trained instructional coach, and a highly-effective student support team. Some of our school priorities include cultivating a love of learning among students; reflective teaching practices; supporting positive guidance; connecting children to nature; and implementing gracious community lunches and active going-out programs.

About Downtown Southern Pines
Nestled in old growth longleaf pine forests, Southern Pines is a charming, walkable downtown with parks, outdoor concerts, independent movie theater, library, yoga, dance and crossfit studios. Locally-owned shops along Broad Street include: fine foods and cheese shops, bicycle shop, knitting shop, and bookstore alongside cafes, pubs and restaurants. The many farms around Moore County offer fresh produce at local markets. Moore County also has an abundance of recreation options, including horseback riding, hiking through old-growth longleaf pine forests, tennis and golfing.
