The Virgin Islands Montessori School & Peter Gruber International Academy is looking for a Montessori Director to lead the entire Montessori program – Toddler through Upper Elementary, ensuring a high-quality Montessori environment. This includes hiring, developing and mentoring staff, a commitment to our strong community via parent communication and education and ensuring licensing and accreditation standards are maintained. 

Qualifications Required: Bachelor’s degree, Montessori certification (AMI Preferred), at least 5 years of experience as a lead teacher, at least 2 years experience as an administrator. 

VI Montessori School was founded in 1964 and became the first and only Montessori school on St. Thomas in the US Virgin Islands. We have two Toddler, four AMI Primary, two AMI Lower Elementary and two AMI Upper Elementary classrooms. In 2009 we added the International Baccalaureate program for our 7th through 12 grades and changed our name to VI Montessori School and Peter Gruber International Academy (VIMSIA). Our school now goes from toddler through 12th grade with our Montessori program in place through Upper Elementary leading up and transitioning into our International Baccalaureate Middle Years and Diploma Programs for 7th grade through 12th grade. Both programs focus on individualized, experiential and collaborative learning and we feel confident that our students are benefiting greatly from this combination of pedagogies.

The school is located on the beautiful island of St. Thomas in the United States Virgin Islands. Our classes are well equipped. Our children are exceptional; our 10 acre campus is tropically lush fostering outdoor activity and green facilities.
