Childpeace Montessori is seeking a Lower Elementary Guide to join our Elementary Program beginning August 2020.
The Lower Elementary Guide will lead an established classroom of 6- to 9- year-olds, both onsite and in the Google classroom digital environment. For the 20-21 school year, the Lower Elementary Guide will be a part of the team working to adapt curriculum and lessons to a distance learning model as needed during times of pandemic restrictions. Work hours are generally Monday to Friday 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. and these will remain consistent even during times of working from home. The wage range for this position depends on experience and begins at $50,000 on an annual basis.
Our ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree and AMI Elementary Montessori Certification, possesses strong communication and organizational skills, Montessori Elementary classroom experience, embraces professional teamwork and collaboration, and brings a positive and kind spirit to the important work of building relationships with students and colleagues. At this time, we are also prioritizing candidates who bring enthusiasm and a willingness to develop skills to meet the challenge of distance learning as we anticipate periods of quarantine related closures or the need to support individually quarantined students. Candidates must be willing and able to work both onsite within stable cohort groups and maintain a full-time schedule conducting distance learning if working from home. Art/music abilities, physical education/movement skills or facility with Spanish language are helpful supportive skills.
This position is salaried, exempt, and benefit-eligible (medical, dental, and vision insurance, and more).

Background clearance through Department of Human Services
Within 30 days must obtain:
Pediatric CPR/First Aid Certificate
Food Handler Certification
Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect (RRCAN)
Introduction to Child Care Health and Safety (ICCHS)
Prevention is Better Than Treatment (PBTT)
