We are seeking a warm, friendly and dedicated full-time Lead Nido Guide to join our team!

Hours: 7:15 -3:45

Days: M – F

Pay: DOQ 

Location: 2190 Wayzata Blvd, Long Lake MN 55356

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

1. Interactions with Children:

• Interact with children in a loving and respectful manner.

• Encourage the development of self-discipline and independence.

• Utilize respect for each child’s cultural/socio-economic background.

• Encourage self-reliance.

• Ensure children’s health, safety, and social/emotional well-being.

• Tailor the curriculum to meet the individual needs, interests, and learning styles of each child. 

2. Interactions with the Community:

• Build positive relationships with families and encourage their participation in school activities. 

• Communicate regularly with families through conferences, calls, and e-mails.  

• Support families in implementing Montessori practices at home.

• Collaborate with staff to connect families to community resources and support.

3. Classroom Environment:

• Plan and implement the AMI Montessori method according to school policies.

• Maintain an appropriately supplied, safe, and organized environment.

• Oversee child-related paperwork and ensure compliance with health and safety procedures.

• Ensure children are supervised at all times.

• Complete opening or closing responsibilities as needed.

• Collaborate with classroom teammates.

4. Leadership Skills

• Serve as a positive leader for staff and families.

• Supervise classroom staff, conduct meetings, set goals, and ensure accountability.

• Participate in community and public events involving the school.

• Communicate important information to staff and families.

5. Professional Development

• Engage in ongoing training and development to meet individual and program goals. 

• Participate in conferences, staff meetings, and relevant courses.

• Collaborate with the Head of School to develop a professional development plan.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• AMI Assistants to Infancy Montessori Diploma or complete certification in the next calendar year.

• Meet state licensing lead teacher qualifications.

• 3-6 years of experience with ages 0-6.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Positive attitude and commitment to customer service.

• Proficiency in oral and written English.

• Availability to work the hours required of the position.

• Current Infant/Child CPR, First Aid, SUID Head Trauma Training (or to be completed within the initial review period).

• Physical capacity to work with infants: the employee is required to sit, stand, walk, talk, sing and listen. The employee is required to reach with hands and arms, jump, dance, twist at the waist, raise arms, push, pull, and run. The employee is required to kneel, bend, crouch, and physically assist infants. The employee must lift and move up to 30 pounds. Good hand-eye coordination and vision are necessary to complete daily cleaning and tasks.
