Montessori Children’s House of Hyde Park is a thriving Montessori school committed to providing a nurturing and intellectually stimulating environment for children. Our Lower Elementary program serves children ages 6 to 9, and we are seeking an enthusiastic, experienced, and compassionate AMI Montessori-certified teacher to join our team.

Job Description:

As a Lower Elementary AMI Montessori Lead Teacher, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining a classroom environment that encourages the social, emotional, and academic development of the students. You will guide students in their exploration of the Montessori curriculum, supporting them in becoming independent, confident learners.

Key Responsibilities:

Instruction: Develop and implement Montessori-based lesson plans in alignment with AMI philosophy for children ages 6-9.

Classroom Management: Create a peaceful, organized, and nurturing environment that supports children’s independence and learning.

Observation: Observe and record students’ development, using assessment tools and documentation to monitor progress.

Parent Communication: Maintain open and positive communication with parents about student progress and classroom activities.

Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other staff members to ensure a cohesive and effective learning environment.

Professional Development: Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance Montessori teaching practices and personal growth.

Qualifications:

AMI Montessori Lower Elementary Certification (6-9 years old)

Bachelor’s degree in education or related field (preferred)

Previous experience teaching in a Montessori classroom

Strong understanding of the Montessori method and philosophy

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Passion for working with children and fostering their growth and development

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Enthusiasm for professional growth and learning
