Our non-public school is opening this September and will be licensed in the state of Maryland. Our school is very different from a traditional public or private school. Our classroom is learner-led with the Guide (teacher) there to act as a GAMEMAKER, COACH and MENTOR. Much like a traditional program, except in this scenario you work directly with the founders and craft the studio from the ground up! Your unique DNA will be vital to the success or occasional failure (yay! –win or learn!) of our school.
At Acton, Guides DON’T answer questions, instead they guide learners to find the answers for themselves and empower them by helping them develop critical thinking. We have a very thorough Guide onboarding process and will work to fully equip you on this journey, but to be successful, you’ll be a natural self-starter with being okay to fail and fall down. However, you always seem to bounce right back and stay after your goals.
Kids also love being outdoors (yeppppp,🌧rain or shine🌈…cold or fine!), so we’re looking for a GUIDE who finds joy in the outdoors too! We’re planning on one full day a week outdoors in nature aka ZERO screen time!
