Chesapeake Montessori School

Chesapeake Montessori School (CMS) in Annapolis, MD, is seeking applicants for an elementary position for the 2021/22 school year. We serve children who are 18 months – 14 years of age. We offer a continuum comprised of two Young Children’s Communities, three Primary Classrooms, one Lower Elementary Classroom, one Upper Elementary Classroom, and an Adolescent Program. We operate on eleven total acres with open fields, woods, and nature trails, as well as a separate farm-based campus for our adolescents. Additionally, we are committed to initiatives that creates a society that is diverse, equitable, and inclusive.

The right candidate must have AMI training, be patient, and bring a positive attitude to the work they do, including being a team player with and among colleagues. Most importantly, we seek a cosmic educator who is in love with the universe they wish to invite children to explore, discover, inquire, and wonder about. Our team of faculty has a desire to implement authentic Montessori learning environments at every level we serve.

Annapolis, Maryland, is a port town on the Chesapeake Bay, and is centrally located in the state. The area boasts diversity, enrichment opportunities, natural splendor, easy access to Washington D.C. and Baltimore, and environmental outlets. The town of Annapolis is home to the U.S. Naval Academy, St. John’s College, and is steeped in history.
