The Post Oak School is seeking a dedicated Elementary Associate Teacher to support our Montessori Elementary program. This full-time position is ideal for someone with an AMI Elementary diploma who is passionate about child development and eager to grow professionally in a collaborative environment.
Position Summary:
The Elementary Associate Teacher works closely with the lead guide to support children’s academic and social development in a Montessori setting. This role offers opportunities for increased classroom responsibility, parent communication, and professional growth as a future guide.
Key Responsibilities:
Under the guidance of the lead guide, the associate teacher may:
Prepare and maintain the classroom environment
Create or repair Montessori materials
Present lessons from AMI albums
Observe student progress and enter data into Montessori Records Express
Support student independence, grace and courtesy
Step into lead responsibilities when needed
Communicate with families in coordination with the lead guide (emails, conferences, reports)
Assist with school events (e.g., orientations, POPA Dinner, Family Fun Day)
Attend monthly faculty meetings and weekly planning meetings
Participate in ongoing professional development
Qualifications:
AMI Elementary Diploma (required)
Passion for Montessori education and the development of the whole child
Collaborative, organized, and eager to learn
Strong communication and observation skills
Requirements for Consideration:
The lead guide supports the associate teacher’s role in the classroom
The associate is ready to accept and fulfill the responsibilities outlined
