Director of Learning Support

Other Administration,

Marin Montessori School

Marin Montessori School, with over 60 years of experience educating Bay Area children and teens, is located on two beautiful campuses in Corte Madera and San Rafael. Serving 275 students, the school is renowned for its dynamic learning environment and Montessori education. We seek a passionate and skilled educator to direct our relatively new Learning Support Program.

The Director of Learning Support will collaborate closely with our dedicated faculty and program directors to identify students with learning challenges, design individualized support plans, and provide direct assistance to students. This position is a unique opportunity to join a thriving school that holds accreditations from both AMI (Association Montessori Internationale) and CAIS (California Association of Independent Schools). As interest in Montessori education grows, fueled by recent recognition in publications like the Wall Street Journal and Harvard Business Review, Marin Montessori is increasingly becoming a top choice for Bay Area families.

In this role, the Director of Learning Support will bring expertise as a learning specialist while also demonstrating a commitment to further study. The school supports ongoing professional development, particularly in the Montessori approach, to ensure the Director can effectively integrate with the school’s unique methods and help faculty build upon their existing Montessori tools.

The Director’s primary focus will be on literacy development for students in the final year of Primary (Kindergarten) and in Lower Elementary (1st–3rd grades). In partnership with the school’s Reading Specialist, the Director will assess students and design, coordinate, and deliver targeted learning support. Additionally, the Director will work alongside program directors and faculty to develop strategies that benefit all students, attend meetings with classroom teachers and parents as necessary, and manage the documentation and records associated with student progress, including summarizing neuropsychological evaluations and other external assessments.

This role is ideal for someone eager to make a meaningful impact in the lives of students, working within a school community that values both individual growth and collaborative learning.
