Curriculum Coordinator

Other Administration,

The Montessori School of Tokyo

The Montessori School of Tokyo is expanding and currently considering different leadership models for the 2021-22 academic year. We currently seek experienced Montessori teachers with excellent organisational and administrative skills who are looking to move into leadership positions within a well-established international Montessori school in the heart of Tokyo, Japan. Dependent on the final model, the Curriculum Coordinator role may be a combined part-time teaching/part-time leadership position or, alternatively, a full-time leadership role. The successful candidate will be one who is open-minded, solutions-focused, and can work flexibly and adaptably as the school continues to grow, regardless of the final leadership model.

The Curriculum Coordinator is responsible for supporting the teachers, students, and parents of their designated programme(s) in a variety of ways that nurture authentic relationships, and foster trust, confidence, and a shared belief in the school’s mission, vision and values.

Ensuring that the curriculum adheres to MST’s philosophy and that we as a school are delivering excellence in academic, social and emotional aspects of school life, the Curriculum Coordinator also plays a critical role in establishing vertical and horizontal alignment across levels through collaborative practice with teachers and other members of the Leadership Team.

Ensuring fidelity to Montessori principles, the Curriculum Coordinator is also a strong ambassador for the school, a self-reflective practitioner who supports a growth mindset and lifelong learning, and a leader who is adept at engaging and supporting others in a compassionate and respectful way.
