We are seeking a passionate, dedicated, and certified AMI Trained Primary Lead Guide to join our school and help inspire the next generation of learners.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The AMI Primary Lead Guide will lead a classroom of children aged 3-6 years, following the Montessori method and philosophy. This individual will create a warm, dynamic, and engaging learning environment that supports the development of each child’s cognitive, social, and emotional growth. The Lead Guide will be responsible for planning and implementing age-appropriate lessons, managing the classroom, and guiding students toward independence and a lifelong love of learning.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead Classroom Instruction: Plan and deliver a Montessori curriculum that fosters intellectual, emotional, and social development, focusing on individualized learning.

• Create and Maintain a Prepared Environment: Maintain a well-organized, clean, and inviting classroom that supports learning across all Montessori areas (Practical Life, Sensorial, Mathematics, Language, and Culture).

• Observe and Assess: Regularly observe each child’s progress and document development, adjusting lessons and materials as needed to meet individual needs.

• Foster Independence: Encourage students to take ownership of their learning and make choices, promoting self-discipline, responsibility, and a sense of autonomy.

• Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with the teaching assistant, administration, and families to ensure a supportive and cohesive educational experience.

• Classroom Management: Use positive discipline techniques that promote respect, peace, and problem-solving.

• Parent Communication: Maintain open lines of communication with parents regarding student progress, classroom activities, and school events.

• Professional Development: Engage in ongoing learning and development opportunities, including attending Montessori conferences, workshops, and participating in team meetings.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• AMI Primary Diploma (Required)

• A minimum of 2 years of experience as a lead Montessori guide in a primary classroom setting (preferred)

• A strong understanding of the Montessori philosophy and a commitment to fostering the development of the whole child

• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work collaboratively with a team of educators and support staff

• First Aid and CPR Certification (or willingness to obtain)
