Christian Family Montessori School, located in the heart of Washington, DC, is accepting applications for a Primary Guide. Candidates must have an AMI diploma and teaching experience at this level is preferred. CFMS is an open, welcoming community that values collaboration and inclusivity. Our ideal candidate is a guide who is passionate about working with children, has an optimistic view of their capacities, and a strong grounding in Montessori philosophy.
Established in 1981, CFMS serves a diverse student body of 110 students ages 3-12. We are recognized by AMI at both the primary and elementary levels. Unique among the region’s independent schools, the low tuition attracts families who wouldn’t otherwise consider private education. Our school is committed to authentic Montessori education, social justice and is proactively engaged in anti-bias/anti-racism work. We are a LGBTQIA+ friendly community. CFMS serves the development of the whole child-academic, social and spiritual-by pairing Montessori with the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd.
