Located on a waterfront campus in Corte Madera, Marin Montessori School seeks an Additional School Support Assistant. The position works with the Lead Teachers and Assistant Teachers in providing a warm, nurturing, prepared Montessori environment when regular classroom staff is unavailable. Also, they will supports the staff in break coverage, playground coverage, naptime, car line, student pickup/dropoff, etc. When not assigned to a classroom, they will support material making, administrative activities, and other duties as requested. This individual is flexible and adaptable to environments and tasks.
When in a classroom, the Additional School Support provides aid to the classroom community to support the well-being of the children and the group. In addition, they will observe the classroom and the children, relate their observations to the Guide/Assistant, and help ensure that the goals of Montessori education at MMS are achieved.
The Additional School Support is responsible for maintaining the rhythm of all classrooms. This includes an awareness of each classroom’s unique routines and the needs of the children. The Additional School Support maintains a calm presence and is a supportive adult in the room for children and adults to call upon.

Required Experience, Qualifications, and Attributes:
At least six Early Childhood Education (ECE) units and the ability to enroll in and take classes to complete 12 ECE units as soon as possible.
Successful criminal background check
Three recent work references
Physical requirements for the position:

Ability to get up and down from the floor with ease
