Many Rivers Montessori was founded in 2014 and is committed to providing a world class Montessori educational program to Twin Ports families. The school enrolls more than 200 students from sixteen months through eighth grade. MRM is an inspired community of students, teachers and families coming together to grow generations of students who can change the world. About the Position
The Children’s House Guide and their assistant(s) will lead one of the three Children’s House classrooms at Many Rivers. Each classroom enrolls from 24 to 27 three through six year-old children. Many Rivers operates on a school model. During the summer, the school operates a Montessori-inspired summer program. Guides are encouraged but not required to work some portion of the summer program.
About Duluth
Duluth is a nationally recognized outdoor recreation hub and cultural center. Boasting hundreds of miles of hiking, skiing, and biking trails all with spectacular vistas of Lake Superior, three alpine ski hills and a lifetime’s worth of water sports from paddling to sailing, Duluth’s quality of life is vast. Additionally, Duluth is the home of world-class cultural and academic institutions like the Minnesota Ballet, Duluth Superior Symphony Orchestra, Duluth Playhouse, Homegrown Music Festival, Bayfront Blues Festival, U of M-Duluth, and St. Scholastica.
Hours
The school is open from 7:00 to 6:00 with the core school day extending from 8:30-3:30. Teachers are generally expected to be on campus between 7:30 and 4:00.
One evening staff meeting per month, typically from 5:30-7:00.
Occasional evening/weekend hours.
Start Date
This position begins on August 21, 2023.
Status
Children’s House Guide is a salaried, exempt position offered on a full-time basis. Benefits include health and dental insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan and tuition remission.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree preferred
AMI Primary Diploma
Possess a positive attitude, strong work ethic, genuine & joyful nature, and quiet and welcoming manner with children
Minimum of two years experience working with children is preferred
Ability to pass a background check
