Fiore Montessori School seeks an energetic, passionate Adolescent Guide to join the dedicated faculty and staff of our Junior High program for ages 12 to 15. Conveniently located at our Leesburg Pike campus on 4.5 rural acres just 20 miles outside of Washington DC, the renovated “village-style,” school grounds serve children ages 3 months to 15 years, and offer tremendous opportunities for further development of the adolescent program which is currently in its second year.

Two modern, well-equipped buildings share areas for classroom lectures, labs, seminars, and library space, as well as a kitchenette, dining and conversation areas and student lockers. The classroom buildings are connected by a covered deck with tables for outdoor work. Another structure holds a “Maker Space” with equipment for carpentry, 3D printing, bike maintenance, sewing and other constructive tools. Its upper level houses a separate Art Studio and Music Loft.

Outdoor campus space includes a basketball court, a soccer field, a stage for drama productions, and a swimming pool. We also have a commercial kitchen on location. Neighboring property includes a CSA farm with a Farmer’s Market selling produce and eggs with shared agricultural space for our students.

Our program features day and overnight trips with access to a 15-passenger school van, and includes part-time experts giving instruction in Spanish, Art, Theater. The program includes a variety of After School Interest Group options for students who wish to stay later to further work, explore or create.

Applicants for the Adolescent Guide position must hold a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree plus an AMI Diploma for ages 12-18 along with high-level math/science skills. Experience working with and/or teaching math or science to middle or high school students is a plus. In addition, the ideal applicant must demonstrate strong spoken and written communication skills, humility, professionalism, integrity and respect for adolescents. We will consider a current AMI Adolescent Program trainee, or would be willing to sponsor the right candidate for training.
