Lead Guide for our Young Children’s Community (YCC), for children ages 18 months – 3 years.
YCC lead guides are responsible for the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth and development of 12 students in a full-day, multi-age environment. Lead guides work collaboratively with the assistant guides to prepare and maintain a Montessori environment, including developmentally appropriate materials and activities. The Lead teacher is responsible for preparing and maintaining a Montessori environment and observing, directing and supervising children in accordance with Montessori pedagogy and Pinewoods Montessori School policies.
Pinewoods educators model integrity, curiosity, responsibility, creativity, and respect for all persons as well as an appreciation for racial, cultural, and gender issues and diversity. Educators adhere to the PWMS mission, for the purpose of maintaining safety and excellence.
Montessori training diploma for 0-3 years (required)
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (preferred)
3+ years of experience working with children 18 months – 3 years of age (preferred)
Fluency in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills (required)
