Guide/Teacher,

Montessori Children's House

Montessori Children’s House (MCH) is seeking a trained Guide for Primary for the 2024-2025 school year. MCH, founded in 1976, is located in the beautiful and historical small city of Providence, RI, and boasts a diverse community of learners.

We are looking for a self-directed, highly motivated, and open minded individual with a strong understanding of Montessori theory. The schools’ mission is to provide an intellectually stimulating atmosphere in which children become self-directed learners and make Dr. Maria Montessori’s dream of a peaceful world a reality.

We are looking for an experienced educator to join our team as a co-lead teacher. Each teacher is expected to work collaboratively with all staff, setting an example for students. Teachers also promote and encourage the emotional, social and cognitive well-being of students, while maintaining an authentic Montessori environment. Benefits include a competitive salary and health insurance, professional development opportunities, daily planning time, summer vacation and optional monetary compensation through our summer program, and a professional and enthusiastic teaching team and administration.

Additionally, we have AMI trained teachers who serve as Curriculum Coordinators, providing additional guidance such as monthly curriculum meetings to discuss theory, pedagogy, or have a refresher of presentations throughout the year, provide clear expectations of the scope and sequence to achieve the Montessori pedagogy, and observations once a month to provide guidance regarding the curriculum and debriefing meetings.

Qualifications:

Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) or American Montessori Society (AMS) teaching credential, BA/BS degree required, previous experience working with children preferred.
