Emotional Intelligence: A Key to Adult Adaptation

As adults, we no longer benefit from the absorbent mind, but we have the gift and skills of emotional intelligence at our disposal to aid in our adaptation. If we hone these skills and learn to use our emotions for the data in them, we can adapt and respond freshly to any person, environment, or situation. And this fresh response is vital to our success when working with children and their families.

We will explore this topic together in many possible ways, including slides, exercises, group sharing, video clips, Q and A, and as much humor as we can fit in. After all, our work requires not only great love but great humor and gentleness about our flaws.
