Head of School
Oak Knoll Kinderhaus Montessori celebrates its 16th year of providing a prepared environment that encourages its 100 students, Toddlers through Adolescents, to explore, learn and joyfully master their world. OKKM is a fully-recognized school by Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) and is committed to the Montessori approach to education, which supports children to realize their full potential both academically and socially. Our Mission is to provide a high quality authentic Montessori education to children of all cultural and economic backgrounds. We strive to instill in children completing our program: strong self-esteem, self-motivation, academic confidence, a love of learning, and a vision of their place in the world.
OKKM is looking for a dynamic Montessorian to be its Head of School, beginning July 1, 2014. Located in beautiful, sunny Pasadena, CA with a population of 137,122, OKKM is an independent 501(c) 3 non-profit guided by a board of trustees. Part of Los Angeles County, Pasadena is one of the primary cultural centers of the San Gabriel Valley. Although famous for hosting the annual Tournament of Roses Parade and Rose Bowl football game, Pasadena is also the home to many scientific and cultural institutions, including the California Institute of Technology (Caltech), the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Fuller Theological Seminary, Art Center College of Design, the Pasadena Playhouse, the Norton Simon Museum of Art and the Pacific Asia Museum.
