AMI Certified Children’s House Teacher

Many Rivers Montessori Duluth, MN
The School: Many Rivers Montessori School will open its doors in September of 2014 on Duluth’s hillside. Duluth is a City of many creeks and rivers and the founders of the school feel it’s a fitting metaphor for our environment and school; many rivers provide many options and opportunities for growth and learning.

The Opportunity: How often does one get an opportunity to help build something from scratch? To be empowered to craft a truly exceptional learning environment? To collaborate with other passionate AMI certified teachers and parents in a nurturing environment for both teachers and children?

Our Mission: Many Rivers Montessori school is a learning environment that strives to foster independent, academically prepared and socially responsible citizens who will be lifelong learners and problem solvers. Our focus on the whole child provides an ideal learning environment for each stage of development from preschool through adolescence, the benefits of which last a lifetime.

Our City: The Many Rivers Board of Trustees is as proud of our City as we are our Mission. Duluth is a nationally recognized outdoor recreation hub and cultural center. Boasting hundreds of miles of hiking, skiing, and biking trails all with spectacular vistas of Lake Superior, three alpine ski hills and a lifetime’s worth of water sports from paddling to sailing, Duluth’s quality of life is vast. Additionally, Duluth is the home of world-class cultural and academic institutions like the Minnesota Ballet, Duluth Superior Symphony Orchestra, Duluth Playhouse, Homegrown Music Festival, Blues Fest, U of M-Duluth, and St. Scholastica.

Ideal Candidate: We are seeking applicants for a Children’s House teacher. AMI certification is strongly desired with 1-2 year plus experience. We will consider new graduates as well. Other qualities include strong communications skills with all stakeholders, a demonstration of nurturing and managing a supportive and organized learning environment, and a can-do, get-it-done spirit.
