Cathedral Hill Montessori School St. Paul, MN
All Day Children’s House Supporting Guide
Hours: Monday - Friday, 10:30am - 6pm
Status: Full-time; Salaried
Start Date: Immediately or June 2014

This is an exciting opportunity to gain valuable experience as a guide working in a new All Day Children’s House environment, while meeting the joys and challenges of blossoming young minds. The All Day Children’s House is a unique Montessori program that supports primary students (ages 2.5-6) in our Children’s House 2 environment beyond the standard “school day” and into the extended hours. It is designed to provide a relaxing and engaging, comforting and inspiring place for children to finish out their day, while extending the Montessori experience.

The All Day Children’s House Supporting Guide will be in partnership with and support the Lead Guide by maintaining the classroom environment and putting it to bed each day. From 10:30 am-3:00 pm, the Supporting Guide may observe and assist during the last hour of the morning work cycle, then help children through the transition of lunch, outdoor recess, and nap time. After 3:00pm, the All Day Children’s House involves interacting with children from both Childrenʼs Houses while maintaining a peaceful extended work cycle, as well as creative freedom to introduce enrichment activities, such as outdoor practical life activities, games, yoga, foreign language, baking projects, art and music.

Basic & Educational Qualifications:
• AMI Montessori Primary Diploma
• BA or Masters
• 2+ years experience with children ages 2.5-6
• Up-to-Date First Aid, CPR, BBP and Sids/Shaken Baby training

CHMS is a family-founded nonprofit Montessori school in St. Paul with one Toddler Community and two Children’s Houses, offering a year round Montessori experience. Nestled in the historic Cathedral Hill District, we boast a peaceful and charming urban location across the street from Boyd Park, attached to a unique mansion home.

Our mission is to create a safe, beautiful and independent learning environment for young children; to educate families and the community about the Montessori philosophy; to instill in children a lifelong love of learning, respect and service toward humanity, and an appreciation and care of the environment.
