School Director, Montessori Specialist & Toddler Teacher
East Dallas Community Schools (edcschool.org/) are composed of three campuses that provide a Montessori education to children not ordinarily served by tuition-based, private schools: urban, low-income, English language learners. These are dynamic schools for those who are drawn to serve a receptive, underserved segment of the population. Our schools are set up to succeed: We start young, beginning with parent education during pregnancy, have involved parents, are well equipped, and build a cohesive staff, with very sound business and development support.
Our Bachman Lake Community School (BLCS) in Dallas, Texas is honored to have been selected as an Educateurs san Frontières site: http://amiesf.org/action/bachmanlake.htm. BLCS educates parents of children from pregnancy to age five through individualized home visits and Montessori classrooms. Funded in part through Early Head Start, BLCS implements high quality Montessori while meeting federal and local policies and performance standards.
Positions: Due in part to internal promotions, we have three positions open at Bachman Lake Community School:
o Role: To lead staff (including a dynamic management team) to provide an outstanding education to children and parents, while monitoring systems to ensure compliance with high Montessori standards and government requirements
o Required: Ability to lead and motivate others; human services program management experience; legal work status in the U.S.
o Role: To coach and guide parent educators and toddler teachers as they serve children and parents through classroom and parent education programs, including providing parent education home visits to a small number of families
o Required: Fluency in Spanish; Montessori certification (or willingness to obtain); Child Development Associate credential (or willingness to obtain); ; legal work status in the U.S.
o Role: To lead a Montessori class for children ages 15 to 36 months, including providing parent education home visits to a small number of families
o Required: Fluency in Spanish; Montessori certification (or willingness to obtain); Early Childhood education degree or Child Development Associate credential (or willingness to obtain) ; legal work status in the U.S.
