| Description | San Francisco Unified School District’s Public Montessori program is seeking a full time AMI trained Implementer to start as soon as possible. This is an innovative and ground breaking project within a district committed to equity, access, social justice, inclusion and academic excellence. We are a team of highly dedicated, trained, and experienced teachers and administrators looking for a dynamic individual with a deep understanding of Montessori philosophy who will assist and guide us. The SFUSD Public Montessori School has served our highly diverse community for six years and will be moving into a new building this summer expanding to twice the size. We currently have three Primaries and one Lower Elementary, but we will become four Primaries and three Lower Elementary classrooms this August. The school will grow a grade each year, until we are a Pre-K to 5th grade school. We seek a person who is true to the Montessori philosophy, has an understanding of working with at risk and traumatized children, is able to engage in a collaboration with the district, and to lead us in defining and sustaining an authentic and high quality AMI Montessori program. Responsibilities include: - supporting SFUSD site administrator(s) in the planning and implementation of the program
- provide daily support and guidance to the teaching staff
- oversee professional development
- design and set up Montessori classrooms
- education of current and prospective Montessori families on the approach and philosophy
- support administrator in her/his outreach efforts
- assist in the recruitment of AMI teaching staff
- support other areas of request by the site administrator, teachers and/or central office staff
